Doha: Ali Mejbil signed a loan deal with Qatar Stars League (QSL) side Al Sailiya as Al Wakrah gave permission to the attacking midfielder to make the move to the Doha based club for one season.
The player has already left for Germany where he will join his new team-mates ahead of the new Qatar Stars League season which will kick off on September 11.
Megbil played with Al Shamal last season but saw his side relegated from the QSL.
Al Sailiyah officials said the move was part of a conscious effort to restore the club back to its previous levels which saw them finish 4th in the 2013/14 season.
The Tunisian Head Coach Sami Trabelsi has put in place a special training programme for the player to catch-up with his teammates and be ready for the commencement of the league in September.
Meanwhile, the Romanian national team’s head coach Anghel Iordnescu visited Al Sailiya during their overseas training camp in Germany in order to check on defender Drago Grigore, the new signing for the Peregrines.
The visit was to identify the level of the player’s fitness since his move from French side Toulouse FC. Al Sailiya continue daily training sessions three times per day and will play a friendly against a German clubs today.
