CNA-Q President, Dr. Salem Al Naemi
Doha: College of the North Atlantic – Qatar has launched more than 20 new Applied Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree programmes, that are available for current, new and international students starting the Academic Year 2021/2022.
This step answers the need of the local and international markets and will equip Qatari and Expat talents with the necessary skills to serve an ever-evolving economy. The new programmes include emerging specializations and interdisciplinary curricula.
The innovative majors come as part of the transformation that the College is currently undergoing, 20 years after its inception. Commenting on this educational shift, Dr. Salem Al Naemi, CNA-Q’s President said: “The changes that CNA-Q is currently implementing will lay a strong foundation for further growth. We will soon become the first National Applied University and this step will benefit our students and the wider community. Most postgraduate jobs in our market are structured around entirely hands-on competencies, and by introducing all these Applied Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree programmes, we are preparing our students for a lifetime of professional success.”
CNA-Q will continue to offer 2-year and 3-year diplomas in addition to the new programmes, all framed within a student-centred approach. The College Schools offer varied programmes; a total of 18 programmes at School of Business Management and Information Technology, 17 programmes at School of Engineering Technology and Industrial Trades and 15 programmes at School of Health Sciences. CNA-Q adopts a holistic
evaluation approach for admission requirements and students are accepted based on the results of the College’s mandatory placement assessment examinations. Applicants who do not meet the entrance requirements of their programme of choice may be considered for a seat in a Foundation Programme.
The College focuses on experiential and applied learning in technology-rich classrooms, workshops, laboratories, and simulated environments. CNA-Q has transformed the education and work landscape of Qatar, distinguishing itself as a destination in the state for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), and a source of talent for a vibrant and growing economy, supporting the Qatar National Vision 2030.
