Doha: Ideal Indian School celebrated the 75th Independence Day of India at its premises with great zeal and fervour.

School President Dr. Hassan Kunhi MP unfurled the Indian national flag at 8am amid chanting of “Jana gana mana,” the national anthem. Heads of Sections and Departments, Teaching and non-teaching staff, students, parents and well-wishers gathered at the school ground to witness the flag hoisting ceremony.

Delivering the keynote address, Dr. Kunhi said that it is a time to recall with gratitude the sacrifices of our freedom fighters who gave us a country where our dignity and individual freedom are guaranteed by an enlightened constitution.

Speaking on the occasion, Principal Shaik Shamim Saheb said: “As Indians, we should be proud of being part of a vibrant culture where innumerable differences co-exist.” “The nation is known by the people, not by the geographical boundaries.” he added.

The ceremony was compered by Tanu Madhvi.
