Doha, Qatar: Qatar Chamber Chairman, Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al Thani (pictured), reaffirmed the Chamber’s commitment to empowering persons with disabilities in the labour market, thereby strengthening the private sector’s role in driving Qatar’s inclusive and sustainable development.
In a statement, Sheikh Khalifa noted that this approach is gaining increasing importance, particularly as Qatar prepares to host the Fourth Global Disability Summit 2028 in Doha. He commended Qatar’s ongoing efforts to advance the rights of persons with disabilities, empower them, and promote their effective inclusion across all areas of society.
He emphasised that hosting the 2028 Summit reflects Qatar’s firm commitment to promoting equal opportunities and reinforces its position as a leading global partner in human development. By helping align international visions and launching high-impact initiatives, Qatar seeks to safeguard dignity and transform disability-related challenges into meaningful opportunities for investment in human capital at both the national and international levels, he said.
Sheikh Khalifa stressed that the Qatari private sector is a key partner in efforts to integrate and empower persons with disabilities, citing the importance of establishing an integrated ecosystem that extends beyond hiring.
This includes comprehensive training and rehabilitation, skills development, workplace accessibility, human resources readiness, and ongoing support to ensure long-term, sustainable employment.
