Birla Public school gets new principal

Anand Prakash Sharma has assumed charge as principal, Birla Public school, Doha today in the vacancy arisen on account of the retirement of the incumbent Principal, A K Shrivastava.

Sharma, formerly principal, Apeejay School, New Delhi, have served as Principal for about seventeen years in various schools of great standing and repute in India and had won several awards and honors.

Among the awards he won are: the CBSE award for outstanding contribution to the field of education (2012), national award for valuable services to the community as a teacher of outstanding merit from the President of India (2014) and  global teachers’ award (2015) .

He has been very active in several higher order academic pursuits such as serving as member in ‘Niti Aayog’ committee for ‘Atal Tinkering Lab’ and member of several other academic bodies associated with the CBSE ‘marking scheme committee, ‘curriculum and examination Pattern’ committee, besides serving as a panelist in India’s British high Commission for Quality Standards in Education and World education summit of UNESCO spearheading the cause of “Girl Child Empowerment” where he released a souvenir with the Ambassador of Nigeria. Moreover, serving as a resource person at workshops for teachers and conducting them, Sharma also contributed substantially toward innovative practices in active class room teaching techniques.

The acme of his innovation is reflected in his previous school’s selection by ‘Niti Aayog’ for establishing the most prestigious ‘Atal Tinkering Lab’ and the school winning ‘The best Education Initiative in school’s Award supported by the government of India and NCERT, in addition to winning several accolades for the school concerned and for himself.

A graduate in Science and Math, a post graduate in Economics, a gold medalist in Jounalism Diploma and an M. Phil in Economics, Sharma is to synergize staff and students with innovative practices and initiatives to lead BPS to higher echelons of performance in curricular and co-curricular areas.
