Doha, Qatar: The Amir His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and Lieutenant General HE Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, Chairman of Sudan's Transitional Sovereignty Council, held a meeting at the Amiri Diwan today.
They discussed bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to support them in various areas of joint cooperation. They also discussed regional developments and efforts to achieve peace and stability in the region.
At the beginning of the meeting, His Highness the Amir welcomed the Chairman of the Sudanese Transitional Sovereignty Council and his accompanying delegation, expressing his thanks to His Excellency for accepting the invitation to participate in the emergency Arab-Islamic summit. He also expressed His Highness's pleasure with this visit, which reflects the depth of fraternal relations between the two countries.
For his part, the Chairman of the Sudanese Sovereignty Council reiterated his country's full solidarity with the State of Qatar and its people, and its support for all measures taken to preserve its sovereignty and territorial integrity. He stressed that the treacherous Israeli attack constitutes a violation of Qatar's sovereignty and contravenes all international laws and norms. He praised the efforts of His Highness the Amir and the State of Qatar to achieve peace and stability in the region and the world.
In this regard, His Highness the Amir expressed his deep appreciation to His Excellency for his solidarity and sincere fraternal feelings, and for his country's supportive stance towards the State of Qatar and its people.
During the meeting, His Highness the Amir and His Excellency exchanged views on regional and international developments of mutual interest, most notably the current situation in the Middle East and the latest developments in Sudan.
The meeting was attended by HE Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Khulaifi, Chief of the Amiri Diwan, HE Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, and a number of senior officials.
On the Sudanese side, it was attended by His Excellency Mohieddin Salem, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and a number of senior officials, members of the delegation accompanying His Excellency the President.
