Doha, Qatar: The Amir His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani received at his office at the Amiri Diwan His Excellency Marco Rubio, Secretary of State of the friendly United States of America, and his accompanying delegation, on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, on the occasion of his visit to the country.
During the meeting, the two sides reviewed strategic relations between the two countries and ways to strengthen them, particularly in the defense sector. They also discussed regional and international developments of mutual interest, most notably the repercussions of the treacherous Israeli attack on Doha. The meeting also addressed the future of joint diplomatic efforts to achieve a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, the release of hostages and prisoners, and de-escalation in the region.
The meeting was attended by His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs.
