Doha: President of the Republic of Djibouti H E Ismail Omar Guelleh (pictured) affirmed that the treacherous Israeli aggression targeting the State of Qatar constitutes an attack on every Arab and Muslim individual, and a blatant violation of international and humanitarian law.
Speaking at the Emergency Arab-Islamic Summit, President Guelleh noted that the attack on Qatar, long a beacon of peace, a refuge for the oppressed, and a voice for justice, was not an isolated incident. Rather, it exposes the true nature of the reprehensible Israeli occupation project, which disregards state sovereignty and is unconstrained by law.
He said that whoever bombs a peaceful Arab capital challenges the entire Arab and Muslim nations, and those who remain silent pave the way for the next aggression. He added that Djibouti strongly condemns this heinous attack, considers it a crime that does not lapse with time, and calls for an urgent international investigation to uncover the truth, document the crime, and hold Israel fully accountable. He also called for immediate Arab and Islamic action that goes beyond mere condemnation to effective deterrent measures and impactful decisions.
President Guelleh stressed that the time has come for Arab and Muslim nations to act as a single body. He also emphasized that dignity is indivisible, and sovereignty is not up for discussion or negotiation. He urged that solidarity must translate into concrete actions that protect homelands, safeguard sovereignty, and send a clear message that capitals are not to be subjected to violations or attacks.
He added while hands are extended for a just peace, this civilised stance must not to be misinterpreted as weakness, nor patience as surrender. If such a misunderstanding occurs, this summit to be marked as turning point that restores the balance of dignity and sovereignty.
