Doha Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council of the Republic of Yemen HE Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, called for adopting a comprehensive Arab and Islamic approach to joint action and collective measures to curb Israeli expansionist policies and the illusion of regional hegemony.
In a speech before the Emergency Arab-Islamic Summit, Al-Alimi said that the comprehensive Arab-Islamic approach must be based on three integrated axes, foremost among which is a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue based on international legitimacy resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative.
He added, "The second axis is supporting our national institutions politically, economically, and security-wise, and working collectively to combat armed terrorist groups.
The third axis is working to deter rogue states with expansionist agendas in the region, especially Israel, and to strengthen joint Arab and Islamic integration."
He believed that ensuring the national sovereignty of stable countries and accelerating progress toward an independent Palestinian state necessarily requires collective action to assist "fragile states."
He stated that the continued genocide in Gaza without accountability and the continued attacks on regional countries without deterrence ultimately led the Israeli occupation to dare to attack the State of Qatar.
He added, "The geopolitical challenges we face today prove that the expansionist regional states and armed groups in the region are two sides of the same coin.
Both provide pretexts for the other's expansion, and both seek to undermine the nation-state and fuel regional conflict."
The Chairman of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council praised the successes of Arab diplomacy, led by Saudi Arabia, in achieving a significant political shift toward international recognition of Palestine.
In this regard, he reiterated Yemen's welcome of the historic UN General Assembly resolution supporting the two-state solution.
He also reiterated his country's full support for the mediation efforts undertaken by the State of Qatar, in partnership with Egypt and the United States, to stop the war on the Gaza Strip.
