Doha: The Supreme Council of Health (SCH) has denied reports on social media about the potential health hazards of augmentin, a penicillin antibiotic sold in Qatar.
The reports suggested that augmentin packed in a factory in the region with a bad reputation had been sold in Qatar.
The Pharmacy and Drug Control Department at the SCH said all batches of augmentin sold in Qatar were free from contamination.
No medicines sourced from the factory are sold in the Qatari market, it said in a statement yesterday.
The SCH urged the public to check the truth of reports circulating on social media, with authorised sources.
