Rome: Jordan's King Abdullah II called on Monday for delivering humanitarian and medical assistance immediately to the Gaza Strip, stressing the importance of supporting the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) urgently, as well as facilitating the access of aid provided to Palestinian people.
During his meeting with Italian Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni, in Rome, King Abdullah reiterated his call for the international community to condemn the indiscriminate targeting of innocent civilians, pointing out that international law and the international humanitarian law are applied to all entities with their diverse identities and nationalities.
He also underscored the significance of the international action to halt the war on Gaza and prevent its spread into the West Bank and the region, noting the importance of rejecting the policy of collective punishment against the population of the strip.
In addition, Jordan's King reiterated his country's rejection of the attempts to forcibly evacuate the Palestinians from all Palestinian territories, or cause their displacement to the neighboring countries, calling for finding a political horizon to ensure the achievement of a just and comprehensive peace based on the two-state solution and international legitimacy resolutions.
