MoI holds three-week lecture series

DOHA: A three-week lecture series on the five-year national strategy of the Ministry of Interior (MoI) was opened on Tuesday at the Criminal Investigation Department auditorium.  

The lectures are organised by the Strategic Planning Department (SPD) of the Ministry for its officers and civil staff. On the first three days, officers were detailed on the concept of strategic plans and the accomplishments in the first quarter.  The head of institutional performance at SPD First Lt Mahmoud Al Muraisi presented a lecture explaining Qatar Vision 2030 and the MoI Strategy 2011-2016. 

The lecture focused on the objectives of the public safety and security sector during the period which include reduction of traffic accidents, improvement at public security, safety and information management, setting up plans for crisis management, enhancing national system for building safety and developing occupational health and safety.   

The MoI strategy is based on four themes – public security, relation with the community, human and material resources, and technical development. 

Al Murais added that 22 programmes and 35 operational plans have been set up to achieve strategic objectives of the MoI for 2012-2013. The Peninsula
