Pakistan’s twin cities get 1,500 CCTV cameras

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Interior Ministry has started installing 1,500 CCTV cameras in the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad as part of an online security system to prevent terror attacks. Under the safe city project, Quick Response Force (QRF) is being equipped with state of the art arms and all police check posts between Rawalpindi and Islamabad are being linked to an online system of registering cases.
The government has constituted a technical committee under the renowned nuclear scientist
Dr Samar Mubarakmand to oversee its technical aspects to ensure transparency.
