Tennis: Qatar ExxonMobil Junior Open kicks off

The 2016 Qatar ExxonMobil Junior Open begun on Monday at the Khalifa Tennis and Squash Complex.
The championship reflects the strong partnership between the Qatar Tennis Federation (QTF) and ExxonMobil Qatar as it is considered one of the tournaments that aim at developing the skills of Qatar’s national teams’ players.
To conclude on November 21, the event will feature the participation of 70 players including Jassim Al Mahmoud, Ghanim Zanail, Adel Ghanim, Abdulaziz Zainal, Ghanim Khalid Al Khelaifi, Hamad Al Rumaihi, Tamim Al Thani, Meshaal Al Khenji, Danah Al Sheikh, Mashael Al Khenji, Al Jowahrah Al Thani, Amnah Homoud, Sarah Homoud, Taymaa Hasiba and Danah Al Modhahki.
The participating players will compete in different categories including boys and girls under 12 and 14 years old in addition to grassroots category under 10 years old.
The QTF Assistant Secretary General Tariq Zainal stressed that Qatar ExxonMobil Junior Open reflects the strong partnership between the QTF and ExxonMobil Qatar as it underlines the strong contributions of the company to the Qatari sport in general and tennis in particular as ExxonMobil is the title sponsor for the main ATP tournament being held yearly in the state of Qatar.
Nasser Al-Kawari, Vice President and Joint Venture Terminals Asset Manager of ExxonMobil Qatar said,
 “We are an energy company but we devote a lot of time and effort to determine the best ways to help build an active, healthy and sustainable community in the state of Qatar. The tournament provides an ideal opportunity for the Qatari players to be active members in their community and help them acquire important life skills such as confidence, commitment, and teamwork.” He added.
