ASTAD will be the Silver Sponsor of ‘Made in Qatar’ 2017 exhibition, announced Qatar Chamber yesterday.
The expo, slated to be held between December 14 and 17, is being organised by Qatar Chamber in cooperation with the Ministry of Energy and Industry on an area of 20,000 sqm at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC).
Qatar Chamber Director General Saleh bin Hamad Al Sharqi and ASTAD Chief Executive Officer Ali Al Khalifa signed the sponsorship agreement at the chamber headquarters yesterday.
“The Made in Qatar exhibition emphasises the growth of Qatar’s economy . We are proud to support the exhibition organised by the Chamber under the patronage of the Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani,” Al Khalifa said. He noted that the expo provides a significant platform for the private sector, stressingthat it aims to boost Qatar’s local products and services.
“This agreement reiterates ASTAD’s commitment to the Qatar National Vision 2030 as the we continually expand our local supplier portfolio, strengthening and contributing to the growth of Qatar’s economy,” he added.
The exhibition aims to attract more investments in the industry sector and promote locally-made products to ease dependence on imported items. It also encourages local companies to do their best to improve and develop their products, which will make Qatari products globally-competitive.
Meanwhile, QC’s director general Saleh bin Hamad Al Sharqi said that ASTAD’s sponsorship to the event proved its great interest in supporting and developing the local industry sector, emphasizing the leading role it plays in the national economy. “ASTAD’s sponsorship to the expo will greatly support its objectives, foremost of which is promoting local products, especially it is being held in unjust siege imposed on the country,” he pointed out.
