The Carmel Polytechnic Alumni Association has opened its Qatar chapter. More than 40 members attended the initiation meeting held on December 7 at Shalimar Palace Hotel.
Former teacher Kochuthresiyamma Thomas of the Electrical Department graced the occasion with her presence. At the meeting, members who graduated as early as 1967 and in 2010, spoke of their ties to Carmel Polytechnic and its influence in their professional and personal lives.
Carmel Polytechnic College, situated eight kilometres south of Alappuzha town in Kerala, India, was established in 1958 by Rev Fr Gilbert Palakunnel.
An executive committee was formed to reach out to all the former students and plan future activities.
