Regency Travel & Tours retained the award for the sixth time in a row as the World’s Leading Travel Agency.  World Travel Awards (WTA) capped its year-long search for the most popular travel and tourism brands in the world with its glittering Grand Final Gala Ceremony in New Delhi recently.

In the presence of Minister of State for Tourism for India Dr K Chiranjeevi, Tareq Abdullatif Taha, Chief Executive Officer, Regency Travel and Tours, received the award. General Manager N M Shafiq accompanied him to New Delhi to receive the award.

Tareq said: “We thank the government of Qatar and all the companies and travel industry professionals in Qatar and the Middle East for their support in winning this prestigious award. It is a great moment for us and we are proud to win this honour for Qatar on the global stage. We have always strived to build a world-class travel services organization offering international facilities and services. I am proud that this effort is being recognised with the award.”

Tareq said he is proud to represent Qatar and having yet again won this year’s World’s Leading Travel Agency Award for the sixth time in a row.  He contributed the success to his loyal customers for their trust in the organisation and dedicated the award to his team and their hard work and the quality of service what they provide to their customers.

N M Shafiq said winning this award year on year for the last six years has put enormous pressure to keep improving the service standards and level of satisfaction of Regency Travel & Tours customers.

In May, Regency Travel and Tours successfully retained the honour of being the Middle East Leading Travel Agency for the sixth year – from 2007 to 2012 and the award for “ Qatar’s Leading Travel Agency” for three years in a row - 2010 to 2012.

Hailed as “The Oscars of the Travel Industry” by the Wall Street Journal, WTA is recognised worldwide as the ultimate travel accolade. Its 2012 Grand Tour featured regional heats in Dubai (UAE), Turks & Caicos Islands, The Algarve (Portugal) and Singapore, with the winners from these competing head-to-head at the Grand Final. The Peninsula
