Doha: A buzz of excitement swept through Doha as the second phase of the Goalz program, sponsored by Qatar Stars League (QSL), concluded on Friday and Saturday at Lekhwiya and Al Sadd clubs respectively.
The first day of the festival held in Lekhwiya Sports club was dedicated to the 3rd and 4th grade students from the participating schools while the second day of the festival - held at Al Sadd Sports Club - was dedicated to the 5th and 6th grade students.
The two-day festival included football games between the participating schools as each team represented one of the QSL clubs. Also there was a penalty kick challenge that drew a huge response from the students.
The first day of the festival was witnessed by a large number of students representing the six schools.
There was fierce competition between the teams during the first day. The second day of the festival featured students from six schools.
From his side, the QSL Community Relations Officer Nasser Al Kuwari, the general commissioner of Goalz Program, expressed his thanks and appreciation to Lekhwiya and Al Sadd clubs for hosting the two –day festival which witnessed huge participation and interaction between the students with the events and activities.
“There is was huge interaction from the side of the schools and their students. The Qatar Stars League Management aims at attracting the younger generation in order to encourage them to be passionate about football to increase the game heritage and the QSL clubs fan base. He assured that all the participating schools in the Goalz programs are interacting well with the final festivals,” he said.
