Head teachers (owners of the licence), undoubtedly, play an important role in monitoring the teaching process in their schools. In the past, head teachers were the guides, the judges, the scientists and the role models of their own neighbourhoods. Nobody could deny the role these head teachers played in society. They were spiritual fathers for the students. They were the final arbiter of all matters.
We still have hopes that head teachers will pick up this original job of theirs, not in fear of a comprehensive educational evaluation or questioning by academic advisors, but in order to satisfy God.
Here are some messages I want to deliver to head teachers who are honest in carrying out their duties:
First message
The failure of some head teachers to carry out their educational duties is dismaying for the society. When head teachers, for example, lock the doors of their schools to prevent teachers from getting out, they send signals of distrust to people who should be honest. Have our schools turned into prisons?
Some head teachers do not give administrators of staff affairs authorisation to allow teachers to leave work for a few hours. Where is the administrative leadership then?
I hear stories of head teachers who do not sympathise with teachers who have problems. Head teachers should know that teachers are human beings
after all.
Second message
Some head teachers stick like glue to their office seats. They do nothing but sign some papers, review others, and surf the Internet, while drinking cups of coffee or tea one after another. In doing this, they do not care about whate happens outside their offices: they do not monitor the educational process in the school, oversee the performance of the teachers, or visit the classes. I say this for some head teachers, not all of them, of course.
Third message
Head teachers, this is not about administration, but about education. Where is your role in guiding the students?
Several students talk about head teachers who make themselves scarce immediately after prayer ends.
Other students say they see their head teachers only in the morning when they come to advise them to study hard and be good to their parents.
Fourth message
Head teachers, I warn you against doing injustice to teachers and other staff. You should treat teachers and staff humanely, or you will pay for this injustice when we all stand in front of God to answer for our deeds.
Fifth message
I warn head teachers against discriminating between teachers. I warn them against hypocrites who say good things to them as long as they are in positions
of power
Finally, head teachers, you should obey God, the All-knowing. You should know that you will be questioned one day, not by the Supreme Education Council, but by God.
He will ask you whether you imparted the correct Islamic teaching to children, following in the footsteps of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
