DOHA: Northwestern University in Qatar (NU-Q) held a programme as part of ‘Discover NU-Q’ series for high school students interested in careers in media and communication.
It aims to help students and parents learn more about the university, including the application process, admission requirements and how to apply for financial aid.
It was held from 5pm to 6.30pm in the Carnegie Mellon building, Room 3035 in Education City.
NU-Q offers programmes in journalism, communication and liberal arts as preparation for a career in the media and communication industry.
Leon Braswell, Director of Admissions, and Quinton Sprull, Manager of Budget and Student Finance, helped students and parents navigate the application process. A representative from Hamad Bin Khalifa University’s financial aid office was on hand to answer questions.
“The series offers a chance to students interested in media and communication and their parents to consider what an education at NU-Q can offer. We welcome anyone who wants to explore these careers,” said Dr Everette E Dennis, Dean and CEO, NU-Q.
“Journalism and media education that embrace the liberal arts is poised for the future.
“It is a great foundation for students who want to consider a wide range of options rather than a narrow career pathway,” he added. The Peninsula
