DOHA: Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development (QF) airs programmes from its revamped radio station for the first time today. Boasting a diverse programming slate, QF Radio will now broadcast a range of English and Arabic shows through two dedicated channels.
“We are incredibly proud of the success of QF Radio since its inauguration, and we hope this special occasion provides us with even more opportunities for greater engagement with our listeners,” said Saad Saleh Al Hudaifi, Media Centre Manager at QF.
“Since it first launched, the radio has been keen to involve the community, especially by increasing youth participation in the station’s programmes. We are striving to provide our listeners with a platform to discuss the things that matter to them and impact their daily lives,” explained Al Hudaifi.
The QF Radio team, which has grown tremendously since the station’s inauguration two years ago, is committed to actively engage all members of the public. To help the station meet this ambitious agenda, QF has also recently unveiled a state-of-the-art media centre.
The facility is equipped with the latest technologies and even rivals some of the most advanced radio stations globally. Its sophisticated studios offer online portals and phone applications for listeners to view live video streaming of their favourite programmes and talk shows. Shows on innovation, technology, sport and current events will be amongst some of the new airings showcased tomorrow. All the programmes are produced in-house. By continually improving the station’s material, the team is creating radio content meaningful to the community.
“A key focus for the design of the media centre is to ensure the equipment is user-friendly. We believe this new approach will widen our audience base in Qatar, in addition to our audiences in 81 other countries,” explained Nasser Al Naimi, Head of QF Radio.
“The name of the Foundation is well-known around the world, and the station’s expansion has built upon this reputation.”
