Children enjoying rides at the Traffic Village.
Doha: The National Traffic Safety Committee in collaboration with Traffic Department, General Directorate of Civil Defence and Public Relations Department of the Ministry of Interior organised an Open Entrainment Day for children on Friday at Qatar Sports Club.
The event was part of the activities held along with Qatar Stars Football League. Many recreational activities such as painting competition and traffic awareness quiz were held for the children.
Lieutenant Adel Hussain from the Traffic Department said that the next Open Entertainment Day will be held at Al Sadd Sports Club on Tuesday at 4pm.
The main attraction of the day was a small Traffic Village where there were traffic signals, small cars and motor bikes that meet safety requirements. A display screen was set up on which awareness photos and videos were displayed. Contests were held between children and teenagers on riding entertainment vehicles in the village.
Lieutenant Hussain said that the main objective of the village was to raise traffic awareness among children and teenagers and teach them how to behave on roads and avoid wrong use of vehicles.
