Mercury to rise from today, another cold spell next week

DOHA: The Meteorology Department has forecast a significant rise in temperature from today. Heavy fog is expected early morning causing poor visibility in some areas.
The warm weather, however, would give way to another cold spell next week with  an expected drop in temperature by six to ten degrees, reaching below 12 degrees in some areas.
Mercury would go up by four to six degrees from today. The maximum temperature in Doha is expected to between 28-32 degrees Celsius and even higher in some other areas during this period.
Today, temperature in Doha is expected to hover between 18-32 degrees Celsius, according to a weather forecast.
Friday would be the hottest day this week with temperature reaching 32 degrees during peak hours while the minimum is expected to be between 19-22 degrees Celsius, said the Department.
Southeasterly to southwesterly winds would blow at moderate speeds and the weather is expected to be dusty causing low visibility.
There would be cold air mass in the upper layers of the atmosphere accompanied by low and medium clouds. Accumulation of clouds will increase from Friday with chances of scattered rains on Saturday afternoon.
This would be followed by a cold spell caused by Siberian high pressure associated with Northwesterly winds. This condition would prevail until February 24.
Temperature would drop by six to 10 degrees during this period reaching 12 degrees in Doha and lower in outer areas. The maximum temperature would settle between 20-23 degree Celsius.
