Doha: The third Police Rifle and Pistol Shooting Championship by Qatar Police Sports Federation concluded at Lekhwiya Shooting ground recently.
Ninety shooting officers from different departments of the Interior Ministry and Lekhwiya participated.
Major Abdul Aziz Al Mohannadi, Assistant Director of Police Training Institute and Capt. Abdul Hakim Muhammad Abdu, Secretary-General of QPSF, awarded cups and medals to winners.
Lekhwiya ground field officer Lt. Faiz Al Kaabi was honoured in the presence of Ft. Lt. Waleed Ali, competitions and teams section officer of QPSF, and other officials.
Lt. Khalid Mubarak Al Kholaifi (Lekhwiya) with 156 points won first place in pistol championship for officers, Capt. Rashid Hamad Zabin Al Dousri (Lekhwiya) came second with 129 points and Ft. Lt. Abdul Rahman Muhammad Al Murri (Lekhwiya) third with 129 points.
In pistol championship for other ranks, Corp. Ali Nabil Abbas Ali Al Emadi (Lekhwiya) won first place with 151 points, W.O. Salim Jouhar Saeed (Lekhwiya) second with 143 points and Naib Muhammad Hassan Ibrahim Al Tamimi (CID) third with 130 points.
In the rifle championship for officers, Naib Fahad Rashid Juma Mubarak Al Khowaitir came first with 99 points, Capt. Majid Al Mansoori second with 92.3 points and Ft. Lt. Zafir Naser Al Hajeri third with 92 points.
Maj. Abdul Aziz Ali Al Mohannadi thanked the chairman of QPSF and coworkers for support in organising the championships and other sport activities for the ministry’s officers and said the third pistol and rifle championship was an open opportunity to find promising talents in shooting.
Capt. Abdul Hakim Muhammad Abdu and Ft. Lt. Walid Ali Raees also expressed thanks for the events. Ft. Lt. Walid thanked Qatar Shooting and Archery Association for support.
