Doha: The Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani yesterday sent a cable of condolences to the Emir of Kuwait H H Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah following the death of Sheikh Sabah Nasser Al Saud Al Sabah.
The Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani sent a similar cable.
Qatar, Iran to boost relations
Doha: The Director-General of Public Security Staff Major General Saad bin Jassim Al Khulaifi yesterday met Iran’s Deputy Minister of Interior Ali Abdullahi and his delegation. They signed the minutes of the first meeting of the joint commission between Qatar and Iran to enhance coordination and reviewed security cooperation in areas of concern for both countries.
Haniyeh hails Qatar’s support
Gaza: Hamas Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh yesterday praised Qatar’s support for the Palestinian people, stressing that projects established by the Qatari donation has transformed the Gaza Strip, especially as it continues to be sieged. After touring projects, Haniyeh also praised stances of the Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and the Father Emir H H Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani. “The execution of these projects is a message from the people of Gaza Strip that they are capable of building and getting freed, and that Gaza has beat the blockade thanks to the steadfastness of the Palestinian people, and their supporters,” he told a press conference.
