Skills Development Centre (SDC) is set to organise “Swathi Fest-2014”, a cultural tribute to the late Indian Music legend Sri Swathi Thirunal Rama Varma – a connoisseur of Carnatic Music Tradition of India.
Dinesh Udenia, First Secretary to the Embassy of India, and V L Balasubramanyam, Principal of Bhavans Public School, would attend the ceremony. The event is organized to celebrate Swathi Thirunal’s 202nd Birth Anniversary on Friday April 18, at Maestro Community hall located at New Salata from 7pm onwards.
Swathi Thirunal was a patron of music and is credited with composing over 400 compositions in classical music. On the occasion students and teachers of SDC would present a variety of dance and music performances based on his creations. The event is open to public.The Peninsula
