Youngsters, Al Misnad share trophy after tie

The Qatar Cricket Association (QCA) has been diligently nurturing the sport at all levels in the country, with an eye on building a strong national senior team.

A total of 64 teams participated in the Qatar Airways tournament which includes in Premier and 3 other groups. 

The tournament started in January and ended on April 14.  

As many as 164 matches were played in the Qatar Airways Tournament. The final Premier match was played for 50 overs at Asian Town Cricket Stadium between Feroz Youngsters  and Galfar Al Misnad on April 14.   

The Feroz Youngsters first batting and made a score of 224. The Galfar Al Misnad also made a score of 224. 

The match was declared as “tied” therefore both teams were declared join winners. Tamoor Sajjad was player of final. 

Al Feroz's Faisal was declared best batsman while his team-mate Mujeeb was named as best bowler. The QCA President Yousef Jeham Al Kuwari handed the trophies to the players following the match, 
Representative from Qatar Airways Ali Farabi, Manager Ticketing Operations along with Mohammad Ahmad Al Othmani and Manzoor Ahmad, QCA Operations Manager were also present.

Ahmad praised QCA President for his support for the promotion for cricket in the country. 

" It's an honour to have Mr President and other key official during the match," he said.

The QCA President Yousef Jeham thanked the Qatar Airways representative for sponsoring the tournament and appreciated the national team players performance and wish them good luck for ICC tournament to be played in Chaing Mai from Saturday. 

The Qatar team will be up against Thailand, Kuwait, China, Bhutan, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia during the tournament which will conclude on May 1. 
Qatar will open their campaign against Kuwait on April 22.
