Doha: Members of Kerala Social and Cultural Association (KSCA) came together on the weekend to mark their traditional New Year - Vishu.
“Vishu Sandhya celebrated on May 12, 2022, brought together the members of the association for a grand celebration after almost a gap of two years,” said the President of the association Satheesan Thattat.
The event held at the Ashoka Hall in Indian Cultural Center (ICC) featured cultural performances by its members. KSCA Doha is a socio-cultural association with over 900 members affiliated to Indian Cultural Centre (ICC), under the aegis of Embassy of India, Doha-Qatar.
The event started with the lighting of the lamp after which the smaller kids of the association were given a token of blessing, Vishu Kaineetam, which was then followed by cultural performances. General Secretary Rajesh Pattathil welcomed the audience.
ICC President PN Babu Rajan, ICBF Acting President Vinod V Nair, Oriental Trading MD VS Narayanan, Chandra Mohan Pillai Ex IBQ Member, KSCA Founder member Premachandran and ICC Head of Affiliation and Membership Sajeev S were the chief guests for the day.
"The evening witnessed an array of programmes, with diverse performances by the KSCA family members, including folk dances by kids, a traditional Kathakali performance and a skit," said Binil Kumar, programme coordinator. Ladies Wing General Secretary Thara Renjeet and Vrinda Satheesh coordinated the cultural performances.
