Doha: The Emir H H Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani yesterday sent a cable of condolences to the Emir of Kuwait, H H Sheikh Sabah Al Jabar Al Ahmed Al Sabah, on the death of Sheikha Jawaher Al Malik Al Sabah.
The Heir Apparent H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister H E Sheikh Hamad bin Jassem bin Jabor Al Thani sent similar cables to the Kuwaiti Emir.
RAF opens Islamic centre in North India
Doha: Sheikh Eid Charity Foundation (RAF) has inaugurated an Islamic centre in the northern Indian State of Uttar Pradesh.
RAF said in a statement yesterday that the centre consists of a large building of several storeys and features an Islamic school to teach the Holy Quran and Shariah.
The premises also includes administrative offices, an auditorium, a fatwa section and an Islamic library.
The centre, built in collaboration with the Charitable Educational Association, will play an important role in supporting community activities, including cultural and recreational programmes, besides its educational role, the statement added. QNA
