Lavrov, Tillerson discuss ways to resolve Syrian crisis

Moscow: Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov discussed in a phone conversation with his US counterpart Rex Tillerson ways to resolve the Syrian crisis.

The two ministers discussed the current situation in Syria and ways to resolve the crisis as well as tasks of combating ISIS organization on the ground, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

Lavrov and Tillerson talked about the implementation of the decisions of the Astana talks, in addition to the preparations for the next round of Geneva talks, the ministry said.

The two sides also discussed the need to intensify efforts to implement the Minsk Agreements on settling the crisis in southeastern Ukraine.
