Doha, Qatar: Qatar’s women’s volleyball team began their Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026 campaign with a straight-sets defeat to Vietnam in their Group D opener in Japan yesterday.
Vietnam dominated the match, winning 25-3, 25-8, 25-9 to make a winning start to their campaign.
Qatar will face the Republic of Korea today before concluding their first-round group matches against Hong Kong tomorrow.
The Korean team also began their campaign with a straight-sets victory, defeating Hong Kong 25-23, 25-12, 25-12.
The first round features 14 teams divided into four groups, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the quarter-finals.
