Govt to probe data of 10,000 mobile phones

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan government has accelerated its efforts to identify and arrest those involved in violent attacks on the Parliament House, Pakistan federal Secretariat and President House and directed three cellphone companies to share the data on 10,000 cell phones used by the participants of sit-ins on August 30, 31 and September 1.
The data would be sent to the National Database and Registration Authority for the identification of attackers and their subsequent arrest.
Senior Superintendent of Police for Islamabad Tahir Alam said yesterday, when contacted, they were gathering data on 10,000 cell phones used during the violent protests.                     INTERNEWS
