Doha, Qatar: The Doha-based Arab Network for National Human Rights Institutions (ANNHRI) has called on members of the United Nations Human Rights Council and member states to hold a special session on the Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip.
ANNHRI Secretary-General H E Sultan bin Hassan Al Jamali stated that the national human rights institutions in the ANNHRI’s member states signed an urgent request for convening a special session of the United Nations Human Rights Council to address the dangerous situation in Gaza.
The ANNHRI’s correspondences with the International Criminal Court, the League of Arab States, and the United Nations Human Rights Council, come within the framework of implementing the recommendations of the emergency meeting of the ANNHRI General Assembly held Wednesday to inform member institutions about joint rights efforts and movements, in a way that contributes to stopping the Israeli occupation’s violations of international humanitarian law and working to hold it accountable for its crimes.
