DOHA: Qatar Airways Cargo has signed an agreement with Al Baida Group for the diamond sponsorship of TRANS4, the second edition of the Qatar International Exhibition for Transport and Logistics, which will be held from November 26 to 28 under the patronage of the Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani.

The agreement was signed by Chief Officer Cargo of Qatar Airways Cargo, Ulrich Ogiermann, and Chairman of Al Baida Group, Engineer Ali Abdul Latif Al Misnad.

Ogiermann said exhibitions and conferences dedicated to transport and logistics such as TRANS4 are important as they provide an opportunity for decision makers to examine the latest technologies and trends in the transport industry, one of the key sectors of the economy. Ogiermann also said such events provide opportunities for important actors in the region and beyond, to cut short time and distance, and enrich their experience and knowledge in the presence of a large number of industry experts and firms.

Ali Abdul Latif Al Misnad praised Qatar Airways Cargo’s diamond sponsorship of the event, noting the company’s prominent position in the air cargo sector, particularly after its recent addition of three new airplanes to its fleet, which he said was proof of the Qatar Airways Cargo’s dynamism and drive for growth.

The Chairman of Al Baida Group pointed out that the event provides many opportunities, as it attracts international companies specialised in transport, railway, shipping, and logistics, and stressed the importance of the event in highlighting the role of Qatari, Gulf, and international groups and organisations in the transport, shipping, and logistics sector, and shedding light on strategic plans in Qatar related to the industry. Al Misnad said a large number of leading companies will participate in the expo.

The event represents an open space to exchange ideas on the transport, shipping, and logistics sector, where the workshops and panel discussions are set to focus on: Rail projects and related sectors, railway projects in Qatar and Gulf Cooperation Council countries, the new airport and the future of the aviation industry, road transport networks, maritime transport and related services, shipping and logistics - supplies and supply industries and security systems for transport and logistics.
