Brussels: The friendly match between Belgium and Spain on Tuesday has been cancelled due to security fears in Brussels.
The Belgian football federation said the decision was taken late Monday after the government recommended that the game not be played.
"After consulting with the relevant bodies and the Spanish national team, the (Belgian FA) decided to cancel the match," the federation said in a statement.
The Belgian government elevated their terror alert to three, highlighting the risk of a serious threat, which has been deemed enough to cancel the match at the King Baudouin Stadion.
The Belgian FA said in a statement: "Taking into account the exceptional circumstances, we cannot take any security risk to our players and fans."
France has identified a Belgian man as the mastermind of the Paris attacks that killed 129 people on Friday.
