DOHA: Fujifilm Middle East, is looking to further expand its coverage and tap into the fast-growing regional healthcare sector by opening on-the-ground technical service office in Qatar.
Fujifilm was selected in January as the medical equipment and information solutions provider for the Breast and Bowel Cancer Screening Program in Qatar led by the Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) of Qatar with the support of RadNet (which performs clinical and operational services) from the USA, and Specialised Medical Solutions (which provides on-the-ground administrative support) from Doha.
“Fujifilm’s overall aim is to provide top-tier service that will lead to the improvement in the quality of life for the people of Qatar,” said Jun Higuchi, Managing Director of Fujifilm Middle East. “Our revolutionary techniques and wealth of experience has enabled us to provide high-precision and high-resolution mammography equipment and systems. We are extremely proud that, through our technology, we are able to assist in the early detection and treatment of breast cancer and be a key player in healthcare programmes that save lives. It is therefore our intention to provide the much-needed on-the-ground technical support and further extend the reach of our products and services to this region’s healthcare sector. Accordingly, a technical service office is expected to open in Qatar very soon.”
The PHCC programme will be connected to Hamad Medical Corporation whose breast imaging department will be digitised by Fujifilm IT Solutions ‘Synapse’. This solution, which provides digital assessment and diagnostic report services, creates a single uniform imaging and information system solution for Qatar. In addition, Fujifilm’s ‘Synapse CWM RIS /PACS’ solutions will be installed at all PHCC Health clinics throughout the country.
Fujifilm’s Digital Mammography “Amulet” System has obtained a Pre-Market Approval from the United States of America’s Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
