MOSCOW: Russia's exports of defence-related products in 2012 will reach a record-breaking figure of US $14 billion, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Monday at a meeting of the military-technical cooperation commission, according to an Itar-Tass news agency report Monday.
"This year, we are reaching a record-breaking level of exports of defence-related products," President Putin said. "Their volume has exceeded 14 billion U.S. dollars, which means that we have exceeded the plan."
The president also noted qualitative changes in the system of military-technical cooperation, such as joint production of defence-related products and Russia's regaining its positions on the market for the modernization and overhaul of military equipment. (QNA)
