QSL: Al Sadd drop points; Lekhwiya win

DOHA: A controversial equaliser by Al Kharaitiyat’s Waleed Jassim prevented Al Sadd from grabbing all three points in the Qatar Stars League (QSL), yesterday.
Tahir Zakariya Muhammad gave the defending champions the lead just after the hour mark. Twenty minutes later, the referee awarded a penalty after Mohammed Kasola was harshly penalised for a foul despite winning the ball.
Al Sadd now have a one point lead after two-time champions Lekhwiya registered their third victory in a row courtesy of a 4-2 win over Qatar SC. The result moves Eric Gerets’ side up to second spot.
