DOHA: A book tracing achievements of the Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani during his first 500 days in office has been released by Dar Al Sharq.
Entitled ‘A Leader’s Journey’, the supplement was launched on Sunday by Sheikh Dr Khalid bin Thani bin Abdullah Al Thani, Vice-Chairman of the Board and Managing Director of Dar Al Sharq. Dar Al Sharq CEO Abdul Latif bin Mahmoud and Al Sharq Editor-in-Chief Jaber Al Harami were among those present at the launch at Wyndham Grand Regency.
The supplement, whose release coincides with National Day celebrations, includes articles by Al Harami, one of which is entitled ‘Undying Day’ and dedicated to the day the Emir assumed office and his journey onward leading the state to establish the future of Qataris.
During these 500 days, the Emir has accomplished achievements, realising implementation of development and infrastructure projects which are discussed in the supplement.
It includes quotes from the speeches of the Emir at local, regional and international events.
The supplement highlights mediations by Qatar to release hostages of different nationalities in countries such as Syria and Lebanon.
Qatar’s role on regional and international stages in solving disputes such as the Darfur, South Sudan, Gaza and Lebanon crises is also included in the supplement.
It explores the Emir’s diplomatic efforts in forging strategic partnerships with many countries, leading to Qatar’s excellent relations with them.
The supplement features statements by officials and people from different continents lauding the role of the Emir and Qatar in diplomacy to promote regional security and stability.
