The Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry (QC) and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Kazakhstan have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to strengthen cooperation between the Qatari and Kazakh private sectors and exchange visits between the two countries’ business community in order to establish joint projects and exchange experiences between Qatari companies and their counterparts in Kazakhstan.
The agreement was signed during a meeting between Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry with a delegation of 50 Kazakh businessmen on the sidelines of Made in Qatar exhibition by Mohammed bin Ahmed bin Towar, Vice-President of the Qatar Chamber, and Ian Yarinov, President of the International Chamber of Kazakhstan.
During a tour of the exhibition pavilions, members of the Kazakh delegation, led by Yirlan Khairov, Deputy Minister of Investment and Development, praised the development witnessed by Qatari industries, stressing that there are opportunities for cooperation between the two sides in agriculture, mining, food security and other important sectors.
Qatar Chamber Vice President said that the visit of the Kazakh delegation during the ‘Made in Qatar’ exhibition, which includes a large number of Qatari companies and factories, opens up great prospects for discussing the possibility of joint partnerships and projects between the two parties.
He added that the siege imposed on Qatar for more than half a year opened the way for the establishment of more cooperative relations with friendly countries, and in the private sector succeeded to find alternative ways to provide goods needed by the State of Qatar.
He pointed out that the opening of new maritime lines and focus on industry and agriculture as well as the support for the domestic product has contributed to containing the crisis and has provided ample opportunities for cooperation with friendly countries
