The Ministry of Municipality and Environment, represented by the Public Parks Department, unveiled Qatar's largest flag made with flowers at the Doha Corniche.
Mohamed Ali El Khoury, Director of the Public Parks Department, said that about 225,000 flower seedlings - 150,000 burgundy flowers and 75,000 white flowers - were used in the formation of the flag, which is around 200 square meters (110 meters long and 20 meters wide).
Al Khoury said that to decorate the Corniche for the National Day celebrations they have been placed 9 large flower towers, 13 small flower towers, 92 traditional flower vases (Arabic coffee cups) and 100 scattered flower basins along the parade route.
