Doha, Qatar: Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs H E Ghanem bin Shaheen bin Ghanem Al Ghanim affirmed that Qatar National Day is a deeply rooted national occasion. It embodies loyalty to the legacy of the Founder Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammed bin Thani, who established the foundations of the State upon authentic Islamic values and firmly rooted national principles.
In statements to QNA, the Minister added that commemorating this occasion reflects the leadership and people’s connection to the nation’s rich history and underscores their adherence to the constants and moral values that represent the essence of Qatari identity.
He explained that the National Day serves as an annual milestone to strengthen belonging and loyalty to the nation and its wise leadership, and to recall the journey of progress and development witnessed by the country, generation after generation, until it became a model of security, stability, and excellence.
The Minister said that this year’s National Day celebrations, under the slogan “With You It Rises, From You It Awaits”, reflect the State’s profound understanding that human beings are the cornerstone of development and the foundation of progress, and that genuine citizenship is a continuous contribution and a shared responsibility in the nation’s advancement.
He added the Ministry embodies these values through its strategic plan (2025-2030), which focuses on building a cohesive and interdependent society, strengthening national identity and Islamic values, and consolidating the principles of moderation and tolerance while raising religious and moral awareness.
The Minister pointed out that the National Day also represents an occasion to reaffirm the unity and solidarity that have characterised Qatari society throughout history, preserving the State’s stability and prosperity.
He added that maintaining this unity is achieved by strengthening social bonds and protecting society from extremism, and fanaticism through high-quality programmes and initiatives that promote the concept of moderation and serve all segments of society.
He noted that the Ministry places great importance on human development and fostering sound religious awareness, stemming from a firm belief that human beings are the cornerstone of any sustainable development.
He added that the Ministry’s services and programmes strive to instil the values of love, cooperation, and tolerance in society, in line with the directives of the wise leadership and Qatar National Vision 2030.
The Minister emphasised that the National Day is an occasion to strengthen loyalty and gratitude to the country’s leadership and to renew the commitment to continue working for the advancement of the nation and serving the aspirations of future generations.
He pointed out that Qatar is confidently moving towards the future, relying on its rich history and deeply rooted values, and that the Ministry of Endowments is proud to be an active partner in the development and nation-building process.
He said that this day represents a renewed covenant in which the citizens’ connection to their roots and identity is strengthened, and their adherence to the moral and religious values that form the basis of the strength and cohesion of Qatari society is renewed. The National Day also clearly reflects that building a modern state is inseparable from building values and intellectual foundations, as always emphasised by the directives of Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
