DOHA: Qatar Petroleum’s (QP) Gas Operations recently organised a traffic safety awareness campaign in coordination with the Ministry of Interior. The transportation company Mowasalat (Karwa), Maersk Oil Qatar and Qatargas took part.
The two-day campaign was attended by about 400 Gas Operations officials and employees of Mesaieed Industrial City to educate staff on proper driving methods, increase their awareness about common violations and inform them about the ministry’s services and programmes related to road safety.
On the first day, Ibrahim Abdulla Taimour, Manager of Field Support (Gas Operations), welcomed participants on behalf of Eid Mubarak Al Muhannadi, Operations Manager at Gas Operations, praised support by the ministry, Karwa and other participating companies and encouraged staff to familiarise themselves with everything related to traffic safety.
Presentations focused on traffic rules and regulations, how to avoid accidents and how to use the “Metrash2” e-services of the ministry.
Participants had an opportunity to use driving simulators and experience first-hand why it is important to wear seatbelt. The simulators were provided by Karwa, Qatargas and Maersk Oil Qatar under its ‘One-Second’ campaign.The Peninsula
