Athens--Greece will make its first formal bid to resolve the bailout crisis on Thursday, according to a government source, as Athens races to find a deal with its European creditors.
The government is expected to ask for up to a six-month loan extension without the onerous duties that come with a full-blown bailout, despite EU paymaster Germany's insistence that such an offer would be refused.
