Total E&P Qatar’s internship programme, which was organised for high school students in their senior year, to help them understand the activities and career paths related to oil, gas and energy industry has successfully come to an end.
The annual internship programme started on February 1 for students of Lycee Bonaparte.
They were hosted in Total E&P Qatar’s headquarters located in Alfardan towers, where they met with Guillaume Chalmin, Managing Director of Total E&P Qatar and Group Representative, as well as Total’s Vice Presidents and senior executives.
Nine students also visited Total’s research facility, Total Research Centre – Qatar (TRC-Q), located in Qatar Science and Technology Park. They were introduced to research and development by Philippe Julien, Director of TRC-Q, and other employees in the facility, and were given a tour of the laboratories.
Welcoming the students, Guillaume Chalmin said: “We are delighted to offer the students firsthand experience of our company’s functions. We look forward to such collaborations with the education sector where we can effectively contribute by sharing our knowledge and expertise”.
“Our aim is to inspire the young generation to work in the oil, gas, and energy sectors which are vital for the economy of Qatar. There is no doubt that these programs add to the overall education experience of the young students and help in shaping up their future career decisions,” explained Yousef Al Jaber, Head of CSR and Institutional Relations at Total E&P Qatar.
