RAWALPINDI: A US congressional delegation led by Senator Jack Reed, Ranking member senate Armed Services committee called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif on Wednesday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), matters of mutual interest including Operation Zarb-e-Azab and the situation in Afghanistan came under discussion during the meeting.
The senator also appreciated Pakistan’s role in counter terrorism efforts.
A day earlier, the COAS visited Kabul to hold talks with the Afghan leadership on boosting security and continuing operations against Taliban militants.
He was flanked by a high-level military delegation which included DG ISI Lt-Gen Rizwan Akhtar.
