Chaliyar Doha organises Sports Fest 2020

Kodiyathur Panchayath won the overall championship with 73 points at the 6th Chaliyar Sports Fest which was organised by Chaliyar Doha at Al Wakra Sports Club on Qatar National Sport Day. Last year’s champions, Feroke Panchayath, came in second with 68 points. Kizhuparambu (28); Kadalundi (23) and Vazhayoor (22) won the third, fourth and fifth positions respectively.
 Kodiyathur panchayath won the first place in football and tug of war while Vazhayoor panchayath (football) and Urangattiri panchayath (tug of war) came second. The sports items were organised for men, women and children, including arm wrestling, running race, long jump, basketball, penalty shootout, ball gathering, stump ball and lemon spoon. 
Vazhayoor Panchayath won the first place in the colorful march past with Qatar-Indian art and cultural heritage. Feroke and Kodiyathur won second and third.
The chief guest, Indian Olympian Tintu Luka accepted the Guard of honour at the March Past which was attended 24 Panchayaths. Tintu Luca inaugurated Sports Fest and released the Chaliyar Doha Sports Fest Supplement handing over to C.M. Haris, Director of Secura Developers Pvt Ltd.
Chaliyar Doha President Abdul Latheef, Faroke presided over the function. Chaliyar Doha Chief Advisor VC Mashhood; Sharaf P Hameed (ISC); Jutas Paul (ICBF); Advocate Jaffer Khan (ICC); Abdul Rahman (ISC); SAM Basheer (KMCC); Rijas (98.6 FM RJ) and KM Jameela (Vazhakkad Panchayat President) spoke on the occasion. 
Muhsin (ICC); Noufal (98.6 FM Marketing Manager) and Abdul Aziz Edacherry (QFA) were present on stage. General Secretary Zameel Chaliyam welcomed the gathering and Treasurer Keshavdas Nilambur proposed vote of thanks.
