DOHA: Qatar University has said only 10,341 vacancies are available for spring 2014. The university has 78,960 seats in different faculties of which 68,565 have been occupied.
A total of 14,310 students have applied and 937 have been accepted for spring 2014. Nasser Al Marri, Head of Registration, said, “The challenge faced by the Registration Department is that many students don’t meet the deadline. Some wait until the last week for registration, or change subjects. To avoid last-minute rush, the university has decided to have a deadline for each course.
“Some students choose subjects not included in the courses. The registration section coordinates with departments for adding new subjects for more students in each specialisation and this requires increasing the space and faculty,” he added
