Doha: Real estate developer Global Building Solutions (GBS) yesterday announced that it is teaming with Qatar-based partners to develop high quality workers’ accommodation villages.
The villages will operate under the brand name Daruna (Our House) and comply with international and Qatari standards, including Qatar Foundation’s (QF) Mandatory Standards for Migrant Workers’ Welfare 2013.
In cooperation with the government, QF, the Supreme Committee for Development and Legacy, and FIFA, Daruna will be an end-to-end designer-builder-owner and operator, providing a vital price-competitive labour solution.
It has also contracted with a world class operating company to provide catering, transportation, maintenance and laundry services for all Daruna villages.
The turnkey approach gives Daruna customers a competitive labour advantage in bidding and executing their core business contracts in Qatar.
Daruna customers will be able to protect their corporate reputations and leverage their marketing advantage by operating in full compliance with Qatari and international standards.
Daruna is securing sites across Qatar to build villages.
The villages will accommodate the ever-growing semi-skilled and unskilled workforce needed to help deliver every infrastructure requirement of the World Cup 2022 and Qatar National Vision 2030, from rail and roads to hotels and iconic stadiums.
