Doha: Georgian Ambassador Ekaterine Meiering-Mikadze yesterday visited Katara and praised activities which bring peoples and cultures closer and extend bridges of communication among them.
She suggested a cultural event about her country and its culture and civilisation, underlining the link between Georgia and the Arab and Islamic world throughout decades.
She said the Arab and Georgian cultures are closely connected and that the Georgian language includes many Arab terms. She also praised deep ties between her country and Qatar on all fronts.
Dr Khalid Ibrahim Al Sulaiti, Director-General, Katara, said Katara always strives to find new ways of cultural cooperation to serve its cultural message.
Qatar, Saudi ties reviewed
Riyadh: The President of Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities, Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, met Qatari Ambassador Sheikh Abdullah bin Thamer Al Thani and reviewed bilateral ties. QNA
